I wanted to record and play an audio file on this EVM to demonstrate/validate audio performance of this codec to use on our new design. I have downloaded the PPC2 software but don't see any link or console button which shows it can record/play audio.

Also the speaker lines on this EVM is going to J11. Where i can connect if wanted to connect a external speaker.

Hi, Amrendra,

The TLV320AIC3268EVM-U should be configured with a script code. I recommend to take a look at the link below. It contains several scripts that can be used to configure the EVM:

Regarding the external speaker connection, you may use J5 to connect the external speaker.

I tried different script to test and now my EVM board is not getting detected on windows. Is there any windows driver which i need to install to get the EVM back on windows. I don't see even 2 LED's getting ON.

You should get the EVM board detected on Windows.

I recommend to take a look at our procedure to verify if our EVMs work:

I got the EVM working back. I don't see any script to run on PPC2 software which can record voice through mic on EVM and play on speaker.

How i can do the same? Do i need to write own script or a script is available for same.

Hi, Amrendra,

Please take a look at the link below. It contains several example scripts.

In order to record voice through mic on EVM, I would recommend the 6.4.txt file. You only need to ensure that jumpers JP31, JP29 and JP30 are placed in the EVM.

Then, you may use the 4.1.txt script for play on the Class-D Speaker output.

I am not able to record the sound after running script 6.4. I don't see any file being created on my system. JPP31, JP29 and JP30 are installed. I am able to play the through speaker by running script 4.1, with this script if i play anything on mic, it played on the EVM speaker.

Also in our design we are planning to use digital mic, so on EVM also i wanted to record to either Mic2-5 as these are digital mic. Which script i need to run or is there any change in jumper.

In this case, I would recommend to request access to PurePath Studio. This software can be also used to configure the TLV320AIC3268EVM-U. Additionally, PurePath Studio provides many blocks that can be used to easily configure many functions of the EVM such the digital mic, multichannel operation, miniDSP, etc.

Hi Luis

Thanks for your input, i will work with pure path studio for recording from digital mic.

In the mean time to test the recording from mc1 i have run the script 6.4, after running this script i get device ready message where the recorded sound get stored when i record through MC1.
