PCM2903C: S/PDIF to USB?

Part Number: PCM2903C

Customer has an application for a device that can receive audio LPCM over a S/PDIF interface

and output it on USB.

The PCM2903C has the required interfaces on it but it’s not clear to me at least whether it

supports such an application. (It seems to support analog to/from S/PDIF or analog to/from USB,

but it’s not obvious that it supports S/PDIF to USB.)

Could you let me know if that function is supported? Also, is there any application

information available aside from what’s in the device data sheet?

Thanks!

  • Hi, Allen,

The PCM2903C can be used to send S/PDIF data through USB for a record application. The device will stream Analog data through  USB if S/PDIF data is not present, but when the device detects an S/PDIF input and successfully locks on the received data, the data source for USB interface is automatically selected from S/PDIF.
