Hi~

Customer want to generate audio sound from general MCU based application. So they found Yamaha audio process like YMF827B which can interface SPI with normal MCU.

Do we have similar sound generation audio codec(?) like YMF827B? MCU just want to have interface with SPI not I2S, so pls, propose proper solution.

    Hi,

    Basically, all our audio converters require of an I2S protocol to send and receive audio data. However, the SPI protocol is similar to the I2S protocols. So, a MCU could be used to send a data stream via SPI to the audio codec.

    Please take a look at the following document for more details:

    If customer is agree with this solution, I would recommend an audio codec such the TLV320AIC3104 or TLV320AIC3204.
