PCM5102A: decoupling 3.3 V power supply terminals

Part Number: PCM5102A

Hi,

A customer plans to decouple 3.3 V power supply terminals DVDD, AVDD and CPVDD each other by RC or LC filter to achieve fully audio performance of PCM5102A.
Is the decoupling of terminals effective for audio performance?

Best regards,

Akio Ito

  • Hi, Ito-san,

Decoupling the power supplies is useful to remove any noise or variation that could affect the performance of the device. However, decoupling between the supply pins of the device might not be necessary, a single decoupling between the system 3.3V supply and the pins of the device will be sufficient. In the EVM we have a dedicated supply for all the supplies of the PCM5102A and the performance is as the specified in the datasheet.
