TLV320ADC3101: Analog Full Scale Input Voltage for Differential Inputs

Hi,

For the single-ended inputs, the analog full scale input voltage is mentioned in TLV320ADC3101 data sheet as below however for differential inputs, one isn't mentioned.
So, could you please give me your advice about it ?
In addition, should TLV320ADC3101 be applied the input coarse attenuation of -6dB if using with the differential inputs ?

Hi, Kato-san,

When the device inputs are configured in differential mode, the analog full-scale voltage is 1.414 Vrms, that is 0.707 Vrms on each differential input pin. As both signals are inverted, the differentiation between them result in 1.414 Vrms. There is no need to attenuate the input signal as long as the voltage provided to the input pins does not exceed the specs from the datasheet (0.707 Vrms per pin).

Is my understanding correct that the adc output code becomes 0dBFS if inputting 1.414Vrms with the differential inputs mode ?
Please confirm it just in case.

Hi, Kato-san,

Correct, full-scale voltage (0dBFS) in differential mode will be achieved when the differential input is 1.414 Vrms.
