TLV320AIC3104: questions about TI audio codec and amp

Part Number: TLV320AIC3104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPA2012D2, TLV320AIC3107, TLV320AIC3101, TLV320AIC3007

Hi,

I'd like to use TI's Audio Codec TLV320AIC3104, and have several questions below.

1. Please check if TLV320AIC3104 is available in Windows CE environment?

2. Is the development environment for WinCE or the library can be provided from TI?

3. It seems to be built-in HD Amp type. (TLV320AIC3104) -> Can it replace the TPA2012D2? (we need 2W amplifier)

thanks,

TS

  • Hello TS,

Thank your for your interest in the TLV320AIC3104.

1: We do not have Drivers for Windows CE.

2: see above, There is no library and no Drivers. There is a driver that was developed for Linux in 2007, but it has not been updated in many years.

3: The HP amplifiers in the TLV320AIC3104 are not in the same power realm as the TPA2012D2. The HP amplifiers could provide 1/8 watt at 16 ohm in differential mode at full scale. The TLV320AIC3101 is very similar to the AIC3104 and can do Stereo 500mW into 8 ohms, and the TLv320AIC3107 is also similar but has a 1W mono Class D Amplifier integrated into the IC also.

IF you don't need 2 ADCs the TLV320AIC3007 would be a good choice too.

    best regards,
