reference design for playing .wav files from SD Card

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP-EXP430FR5994, TIDM-FILTERING-SIGNALPROCESSING, BOOSTXL-AUDIO

Team,

Do we have a reference design for playing back .wav files from SD Card?

Thanks

Viktorija

  • Hello Viktorija,

We don't have a specific design that will do this out of the box. However, I would recommend starting with our TIDM-FILTERING-SIGNALPROCESSING reference design which is based on the MSP-EXP430FR5994 LaunchPad (features an SD card slot and LEA module) and the BOOSTXL-AUDIO BoosterPack (features an amplified speaker and headphone output). Start with the source code from this design. Get everything working and then start modifying the code to read the .wav file from the SD card instead of capturing it from the microphone.

I found an app note called Low-Cost Speech With MSP430. In Section 2.1, it discusses storing audio data in the internal Flash (or FRAM here) memory. In Section 4.2, it discusses generating and loading the audio data.

Lastly, here are some additional references that may help you.

    Regards,

    James
