AIC3204 AGC PARAMETERS SETTINGS

Hi,

i have some doubts about configuring AGC parameters:

1) How may I find the Target Level, and how to use the IIR filter in order to do this. ( The DS is not very clear for me)

2) Suppose I want a signal output of 2 Vpp, and I don't want to apply AGC gain if the signal level is below 0.8 Vpp. How can I do?

Thanks a lot in advance

Paolo

  • Hi, Paolo,

The IIR filter is a separate block from the AGC,  which can be used in addition to the biquads for audio processing. Target level of the AGC is defined as  the nominal output level that the AGC attempts to hold the ADC output signal. We have an app note where you can find more information about the AGC.

Assuming the values of your second question are adjusted for a real scenario, the application  you want to achieve can be replicated by enabling the noise threshold feature of the AGC, which sets the level the AGC will consider as noise and hence, any value below that threshold will not be amplified to the target level.

Another question: where can I find 'Control Software'?

May I run it without demo board of the codec?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi, Paolo,

The control software or GUI for the AIC3204 can be found on the product folder in TI.com site. You should be able to use the GUI without the EVM, but please consider that the board should be connected to make a log of the registers configured with the tools.
