TLV320ADC3001: About an ADC sampling rate setup of TLV320ADC3101 for DMIC

Part Number: TLV320ADC3001

Hi Sirs,

As a following of the E2E thread at e2e.ti.com/.../325495

Would you pls advise:

1, How can we obtain the tool to generate clock configuration (CFG) for the ADC3101 similar to PPC3's System Integration feature?
2. How to enable ADC3101's ADC?
3. Customer failed to enable DMCLK. It becomes 0x14 when writing 0x16 to register 0x33. Is there any tips to configure this register?

Thank you and Best regards,

Wayne Chen

  • Hi, Wayne,

The ADC3101 GUI does not have a direct way to export the register settings on .cfg format, it is possible to record the register setting changes with the log function of the command line interface window.

The ADCs of the ADC3101 are powered ON by configuring Register  81 of Page 0. When enabling the ADCs, please also consider that they are muted by default; mute control of the ADCs is configured with Register  82 of Page 0.

DMCLK seems to be configured by your customer as INT2 output. Is this what they are looking for?. Bit D1 of DMCLK control register is read-only and cannot be written. It reflects the value read by DMCLK when configured as General Purpose input.

  • Hello Diego. Would you please assist us to generate a CFG because my ADC3101 recorder seems malfunction in Windows 10? Thanks a lot...Wayne Chen
  • Hi, Wayne,

The GUI of the ADC3101 features a couple configuration scripts that can be used as reference for a playback application using either on-board mic or line inputs. These scripts are available on the Recording window below the ADC3101 Quick Start section of the GUI.

If you are unable to see the controls on the GUI, it is possible that you are not running the software with admin rights. This is a common and well known issue which gets fixed once the software is executed as admin.
