TLV320AIC3007: Broken Output / Input

Part Number: TLV320AIC3007

Dear Sirs,

we are using the AIC3007 on third-party development boards, in a communication application, where a Headset and an additional loudspeaker are connected to the devices. We have a bit trouble with the devices as after a while some of them get broken and don't play or record the sounds properly. We think this may happen when users plug in/out the headsets. Do you have any general DO's and DONT's or any recommendations like protective circuits to avoid them to brake? Any help would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Lars

  • Lars,

This is very odd. what third party board is this? It could be anything from a bad configuration, processor problem, or driver issue.

can you tell me more about your application? do you know what the device configuration is?

    best regards,
    -Steve Wilson
  • Steve,

we use a phyBoard-Wega from Phytec.

    see: https://www.phytec.eu/product/single-board-computer/phyboard-wega/

    to sum up the application:

the board is used as a client in an IP-based communication system. It comes with one channel line-out, one channel line-in and one channel speaker-out. We connect an active loudspeaker to the line-out and a headset to the line-in and speaker-out.

Three boards are build into a 19" - box together with a 5 VDC power supply. For the moment I can't tell you how the device is configured as the original developer has moved to another team. Please tell me which informations you need in detail and I will see to get these.

    Also:

Users observed that the audio chip was broken after they dis- and reconnected the loudspeaker and headset as they had to reposition the 19" - box in the rack.

    Kind regards,

    Lars
