ADS1178 noise issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1178

I'm working on a design with ten ADS1178 devices on a board.  Data is being extraced from all the devices with all the input channels pulled to mid scale.  The issue that I'm seeing is that some of the converters are showing random errors.  Typically the RMS of the noise seen on a channel's data is around 1LSB.  Ocassionally, some of the channels will have a single large value error.  I have seen values as high as 19000.  I am looking closely at the power up sequence, and I'm not sure that a proper reset has occured.  My question is, if the device does not receive a good reset are data errors that i'm seeing possible?  I'm confident that the serial data extraction is good, because channels from the same device during the error are fine.  Also, data error values are not due to single bit errors.

Thanks
