Stand-Alone ADS8411 or Equivalent ADC Circuit Without a Microprocessor

I am trying to build a circuit using an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) as a stand-alone converter with no microprocessor. I need parallel output as I am using some of the LSB's to convert into an Incremental Encoder using XOR gates. This is for a Linear Actuator project using a Linear Potentiometer. I would like to use at least a 12-bit ADC or higher. Does anyone have a quick, easy interface circuit to drive the conversion on the chip? Thank You.
