Multi channel bipolar adc required with selectable range

1. I have application which require multichannel bipolar adc with selectable range. Below are specs
A) Selectable input range: +-10V,+-5V,0 to 10V, or 0 to 5V.
B) Bits: 12 or higher
C) Interface: SPI preferable not parallel
D) Channel: 8 channel. In case of 4 channel, two adc will be used.
E) Supply: Single supply operation is preferable.

2. I was looking at ADS8634.
Looks like is it ok. Except dual supply is required.

3. Any other recommended ADC.

Vindhyachal,

You could use a front-end amplifier so that you could put it in the range of the ADC. If you use the PGA280 or PGA281, you would need a bipolar supply, but you wouldn't need any other special signal conditioning to work with any ADC.

I got your message and asked some of the SAR ADC engineers and I think the ADS8668 might be close to what you are looking for.

There is a family of these devices with different resolutions and channel counts, so if you need something different, you can post back.

As Joe mentioned, the following device family will meet all the requirements that you have specified in your post:

18-bit --- ADS8698, ADS8694

16-bit --- ADS8688, ADS8684, ADS8688A, ADS8684A (Multi channel); ADS8681 (Single channel)

14-bit --- ADS8678, ADS8674

12-bit --- ADS8668, ADS8664
