DEM-DDC112U-C PC software

Hi, floks

Can we download DEM-DDC112U-C's PC software that described at page 2 of following datasheet?

www.ti.com/.../sbau015.pdf

  • Keiichi-san,

I looked for it and I don't believe that this software is available anymore. There are several reasons that this phased out.

The software for this was developed in 1998 or 1999 which was on the Win98 platform. At best, it might have a version ready for Win XP, but that is unlikely. Second, the fixture requires a parallel port (25 pin DB) which almost no computers have anymore. Lastly, this evaluation fixture was replaced by the DDC112EVM.

Even with the proper software, I don't think that many have the computer around to run this board.

I don't normally support this device, so I'll alert the engineers in the Medical Forum, where they do support it, but I don't think they have the software either.

  • Hello Joseph

    Thank you for your reply.
It is also based upon patent conflict.

The Japanese patent JP 5018409 claims that

    1) The conversion of current to voltage by integration.
    2) Average of several measurements
( I say very roughly, I think this content is not so important.)

The JP patent issued on 11/07/2007.
I found a description of averaging in figure 8 of DEM-DDC112U-C application note.
If averaging was done in DEM-DDC112U-C's already, I believe we can reject this claim.

This is why I am asking.

    BTW, in general,
Can TI offer a latter that describe release date of datasheet, device release date and application note in official?
  • Keiichi-san,

I'm sorry, but I don't think TI is willing to write an official note for a patent dispute for which it is not a party. I can only help for problems when it involves technical problems with the device or applications, not legal or patent issues.

The software application note is clearly copyrighted to 2000. If it is useful to your customer, then they can use it as-is.

  • Joseph,

Thank you for your reply. I understood.

    Just one more thing.

I guess the DEM-DDC112U-C PC have average function of each measurement results and its copyright is 2000. Am I correct?
  • Keiichi-san,

The DEM-DDC112U-C user guide has a copyright year of 2000. According to my listing, it was released Sept 27, 2000.
