HI,

These corner diagonal leads are how a tape roll of lead frames are held together before being cut to separate each one during assembly. These leads have no influence on the device electrically. As to why they are different from one device to another, I can only speculate that the lead frame supplier has different tooling for the same lead frame. In any case, the devices are electrically equivalent.
