DS90UB925Q/926Q and Power-over-coax

Hi,

I have noticed that the serializer/deserializer DS90UB913A/914A have the option of sending power over coax cable in their specifications. I would like to use that feature with the DS90UB925Q/926Q, but there is no information in the specifications about Power-over-coax. Is there a reason for that? Could this cause a problem? Thank you.

Hi Pascal,

The DS90UB925/926Q devices do not support coax transmission. The 913A/914A are the only FPD-Link devices that we have which support coax.

Hello Jason,

In this case, what would you recommend if I wanted to send serialized 24-bit RGB signals with power-over-coax, is it possible somehow?

Hello Jason,

I was looking at the evaluation board for the DS90UB925Q and noticed that there were SMA connectors for the FPD-Link III output. Are you certain the coax transmission is not supported?

Yes, there is one SMA connector for the positive signal and one for the negative signal. This is mainly for evaluation, as customers are more likely to have SMA cables than Rosenberger, which is the other connector option.
