TSW1400 doesn't work with DAC5682zEVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC5682Z

Hello,

we are trying to use the TSW1400 with the DAC5682z.

We can't get a proper output signal.

We attached the test setup below.

Testaufbau.pdf

The setup is based on the test file WCDMA_TM1_complexIF30MHz_fdata122.88MHz_1000.tsw.

We distributed the clocks so far we could recognize how the system expects the clocks.

Previously we used the DAC5682zEVM with the TSW3100. We could make quite good experience with the setup.

Best regards

Christian

  • I am looking into it. I will get back to you by end of day tomorrow.

  • Hi Christian,

I was able to get the desired output with the same setup. To make your setup work you have change one option in DAC5682Z GUI. You have to change sync source option from “hard sync” on EVM GUI to “soft sync” and then toggle the “software sync” to "on" position as shown in picture below.

  • Hi Neeraj,

    thanks for your reply.

I tried a setup with your suggestions but it still doesn't work.

When i enable the self test in the DAC5682 GUI i can see a broadband signal in the spectrum.

By the way i tried to probe the LVDS input signals on the DAC5682z with a scope.

    I couldn't find a proper signal.

Please give me any further suggestions.

Can you upload your config files?

    Regards

    Christian

  • Hi Christian,

I would like you to try the following sequence:-

    1. Turn off the power to both the TSW1400 and DAC5682z EVM and close the both EVM GUI HSDC PRO software.
    2. Turn on the TSW1400, load the firmware for DAC5682z, set the Data Rate to 122.88M, set DAC option to 2’s Complement and Load External pattern file WCDMA_TM1_complexIF30MHz_fdata122.88MHz_1000.tsw.
    3. Turn on the power to DAC5682z evm and open the GUI.
    4. Load the config file for CLOCK by selecting the Register Config and click Load Regs and select CLK 4X 491P55 file and click send all.
    5. Load the DAC5682z register Config file by selection Load Regs under DAC5682z and selecting DAC5682z 4x 491p52 file and click send all.
    6. Go to TSW1400 click send
    7. Go back to DAC 5682z GUI and toggle software sync button couple of times to “on” position.

I have attached the config files for clk and register settings.
