ADC16DX370 unused channel

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC16DX370

Hello,

I am using the ADC16DX370 and I only need channel A. What should I do with Vinb+, Vin-, Vcmb and its two output lanes? I read in the forum that for other ADC leaving the unused channel floating is not the best option. Could someone give me advice for the ADC16DX370?

Thank you so much

Regards

  • Berlauber,

If you are not going to use channel B, it is best to short  Vinb+ and Vinb- to each other. Do not short to GND. Vcmb should still have the recomended bypass caps but it does not need any other connections. The serial data outputs for channel B must have a 100 ohm termination at the output pins.

  • Hi Josh,

Thank you so much for your reply. Just to clarify, please tell me if everything is ok with the following configuration of the outputs:

    - SA0+ and SA0- : this output is used (single lane)
    - SA1+ and SA1-: output not used and the datasheet says that in single lane "they are undefined and may be left floating". is it also recommended to put a 100 ohm resistor in paralell to these output pins?
    - SB0+ and SB0-: not used -> put a 100 ohm resistor in paralell to these output pins
    - SB1+ and SB1-: not used -> put a 100 ohm resistor in paralell to these output pins

    Thank you!!

    Best regards
  • Berlauber,
If the 2 lane/channel serial data output mode is used, then all output serial lanes must have a 100 ohm termination. If the 1 lane/channel mode is used, then only SA0+/- and SB0+/- require a termination and the SA1+/- and SB1+/- may be left floating.
