ADC16dx370 Power Supply Design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC16DX370

Hello,

I am designing the power supply of the ADC16DX370 and I would like to know if the sequencial power up/down described in datasheet (page 64) is strictly necessary for an adecuate performance of the device.

For the power up I have a possible solution to implement the sequence but  power down seems to be more complicated.

Can anyone tell me the possible effects if non sequencial power up/down is implemented?

If it is strictly necessary, can anyone give me advice on how to implement the sequential power down?

Thank you so much!

Best regards

  • Hi Berlauber
Using one of the suggested power up sequences is mandatory. If the power up sequence is not followed, then the device may start in an unknown state and yield poor performance.
The power down sequence is a little less strict. The mandatory rule is: the 3.0V supply must stay above the 1.8 and 1.2V supplies as the supplies all come down. If this is not followed, then internal parasitic diodes between supplies may turn on and burn out if the current is high.
