ADS5421 IOVDD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5421

Can I apply 3.3V on ADS5421 IOVDD? The datasheet confused me.

  • Hi,

Yes, you can put 3.3V on the supply connection for the output drivers for the sample output.  It is not called IOVDD though, but rather VDRV.   In fact, see page 16 of the datasheet:

A dedicated supply pin, VDRV, provides power to the logic output drivers of the ADS5421 and can be operated with a supply voltage in the range of +3.0V to +5.0V. This can simplify interfacing to various logic families, in particular lowvoltage CMOS. It is recommended to operate the ADS5421 with a +3.3V supply voltage on VDRV.
