Any example interfacing ADS5463 with Altera series fpga?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS5463

Hi, all

I would like to use high speed ADC, which is ADS5463. Its sampling rate is 500MPSP.

May I know is there any workable example with Altera platform?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

Our TSW1400 capture card works with the ADS5463 EVM and that capture card uses an Altera Stratix FPGA.  I have put in a request to get that code.  Someone has to get that code ready for me for that particular EVM because the original author of the code made one Quartus project that had variables set in the Verilog to describe the format of the interface, so if i just grab the latest project it could be code set up for some other ADC instead of ADS5463.    Whatever the last time the code was used is the ADC that it is set up for.  I will let you know when itis ready.

    Regards,
    Richard P.

  • Hi,

I received a qar file as the quartus project for the ADS5463 to Stratix interface on the TSW1400.  Please provide an email address and I can send it to you.

  • Hello,
I am trying to use the same ADC ADS5463 with altera de-2 115 dev board. Would you be able to provide an example for this platform?

    Many thanks,
    Michal
  • Hi,

We do not have example code for the many different development platforms that are out there.

We do have the ADS5463 EVM working with the TSW1400 Capture Card, which does use an Altera FPGA.   A Stratix IV I believe.   The source code for the TSW1400 could be made available upon request, but considering the TSW1400 has to support many EVM formats the code for the ADC interface would not be as simple and readable as it could be if it were developed for a single data format.  And it looks like that development platform you call out is Cyclone, not Stratix.
