Configuring the ADS4126EVM to output CMOS on the headers J5

It makes sense now. Thanks! I am actually using 5 EVMs so would it be possible for you to install the CMOS buffer on all 5 of them. Also, if the U7 are installed, I am guessing I will not be able to evaluate the ADC performance using the TSW1405 data capture card?

That is correct. You would need to purchase a TSW1400, which will allow you to capture data in either mode. If you want the buffers installed, we can do it for you.

After installing the CMOS buffer, I tried to set the EVM up for LVCMOS output but couldn't. I have read the EVM User Guide and the ADS4126 Data sheet and from whatever information I could gather I tried the following -
1. Setup the EVM Jumpers as described for the quick start. Except I moved jumper J2 to 2-3 instead for BINARY CMOS output.
2. Setup the EVM for SPI interface as per the User Guide
3. Setup the ADS4126 internal registers to output LVCMOS in low speed mode using SPI
4. Drive the ADC with a 50MHz clock and 1MHz input tone at 300mV amplitude
5. Observe the output ADC clock on Pin 2 of J5 (CMOS headers)

Step 5 does not show any clock output. Is there something I am missing?

I also ordered ADS4142 EVM and require J5 header i.e Parallel CMOS output but default setting is LVDS output. The user guide suggests to install CMOS buffers. Could you please suggest part no. for the required buffer.

You will need the SN74AVC16244DGGR from TI. You should be able to get some free samples from the sample room.

     Thanks for your quick reply. I just want to confirm whether the buffer IC suggested by you is according to the schemetic of board i.e pinout satisfies the internal connections of EVM ??
