ADC08D1520 - Calibration Timing

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC08D1520

For the ADC08D1520, what is the timing relationship from CalRun going high to when data becomes invalid. We would like to use this signal to flag incoming data as invalid but don't see any timing relationship in the data sheet.

Also do the  the Vin I/Q inputs need to be put in a safe state during calibration? Ideally we would like to keep our system running and just ignore any data when CalRun is high, but that implies the voltages will still be changing on Vin I/Q.

  • Hi Mark

When in calibration the data outputs will transition from the normal data state to a muted state while the process happens. I believe the outputs are held at either mid-code or 0x00h.

I'm looking into the ext timing but haven't tracked down anything definitive yet. It could be only a few input clock cycles, but at a maximum I would assume it is no more than the latency for the mode you are operating in.

During calibration the input signal should not have a significant effect and normal input signal levels can be applied. I would avoid having over-ranged signals present.

    Best regards,
