TSW14J56EVM: FX3 Firmware

Part Number: TSW14J56EVM

Hi,

Is it possible to get the firmware for FX3 usb controller for this EVM? I'm trying to adopt this board to my current needs, but don't want to try to write everything from scratch. All in all EVM's concept is to provide some jump-start. TI provides FPGA firmware files but not the FX3 firmware. Writing custom PC software is feasible for me, but lacking the detailed register level documentation, I have to retrieve that information from source files. And there is that missing link - FX3 code.

BTW, what about the more detailed documentation for EVM's firmware? Is it possible to get the one?

    Peter,

    I will see what we have. However we are not staffed to support this properly. Are you planning on modifying the firmware and control interface? Or do you want to remotely control HSDC Pro and the TSW14J56 EVM?

    If you just want to remote control this you can do so with the provided labview and matlab automation examples already installed in HSDC Pro installation directory.

    Hi, Ken,
    I'm heading toward full software control over the existing firmware and than modifying the firmware itself. My first short term goal is to get pretty fast continuous signal acquisition with massive data storage - 5000 triggers per sec x 24 ch x 1k samples over 1 hour time span. This is to collect data base for signal processing algorithm development. I can't get that through automation interface.
    I realize that I'm on my own, but, as I said, I want to use your reference design as a jump start. Pc software is no problem for me, and I can decode the needed information from existing HW firmware source, as long as it is complete. Of course any supplementary documentation would be of great help.

    Peter,
    A lot of the code is for HSDC Pro configuration of the JESD204B interface. You may be better off to do a custom build with a fixed JESD204B PHY and Transport layer to match your converter configuration of choice. BTW which converter are you planning on using?

    The firmware is available on the TSW14J56EVM product page for download. I will check if we have any info on the FX3 firmware as that is loaded into the Cypress USB separately.

    Hi, Ken.
    I forgot to mention that: I'm using ADS52J90EVM, and this gonna be my converter of choice. Also all the JESD204B mechanic has to be addressed by me. I already have the firmware of TSW14J56 downloaded. This is precisely that FX3 code I'm asking for.
