ADC12DJ3200: PCB and layout

Part Number: ADC12DJ3200

1. I understand that micro-strip-line (or microwave line) shall be used for the this ADC, especially the ADC input signals and the clocks to the ADC for the best

2. To be able to run micro-strip-line or microwave line on top and bottom (outer layers), the thickness from top layer to second layer shall have to be larger, for example.

However we are running into the space issue (small size) and board thickness restriction.

In my past experience, one way to deal this scenario is to cut the planes underneath of those traces, for example, use layer 3 as reference layer instead, which made it thicker from top to the ground plane for the traces.

My question or I like to confirm with you that I can do the same trick for this ADC, the input signals and clocks. Thank you.
