We are going to purchase

1. ADS42LB69 EVM + FMC-ADC Adapter +TSW1400 EVM + TSW2170.

We are also purchasing

1. Stratix 10 Dev kit (DK-DEV-1SGX-L-0A) having One FMC low-pin count (LPC + 15 transceivers) connector + Arria 10 SOC Dev Kit (DK-SOC-10AS066S-A) having two Vita 57.1 FMC connectors

We want to send the captured data to one our FPGA/SOC Boards via FMC connector.

In this case I would like to know the

1. Feasibility of FMC interface with either of the board interface

2. FMC netlist to capture the data on the FPGA side. Usually ADC card manufacturer gives a generic netlist to capture the ADC data on FPGA.

Anubhav,

The ADC will interface to the DK-DEV-1SGX-L-0A using the FMC-ADC adapter but all data pairs P and M signals will be swapped. I do not have the schematic for the other Altera board you are looking into using. As far as a net list file, this is an output file from the cad tool that just lists all nets used in the design, the point to point connections and net length. I do not see how this file can help you with the FPGA capture. If needed, we can provide this.

Pls confirm whether u have checked with "DK-DEV-1SGX-L-0A" or "DK-SOC-10AS066S-A" just in case i am attaching the scematic of "DK-SOC-10AS066S-A". Kindly look at the FMC site A & B whichever is suitable.

you are correct netlist wont help much as long as the compiled netlist is compiled with target FPGA device in mind.

Thus i would require the HDL code to capture the data in the FPGA coming from FMC site.

In my response, I mentioned I verified the interface with the "DK-DEV-1SGX-L-0A". We only have LVDS source code for a Stratix IV device. This can be found under the TSW1400EVM product folder. You can verify the other Altera board using the schematics for the adapter and ADC EVM, which I have attached.

Please guide me on the following
1. How to check the compatibility between FMC sites
2. As you mentioned data pairs P&M signals will be swapped. What is the implication. How to correct that in HDL code.
3. Guidelines on migrating the HDL code from Stratix iV to Stratix 10 or Arria 10.

Anubhav,

I would think there would be a simple way in the firmware to swap the polarity on input signals. As much as I would like to help you, I currently have no bandwidth. I suggest you contact your local Altera FAE for support regarding migrating with Altera devices.

Hi JIM
I got this checked with M/s Mistral Solutions and they have concluded that
FMC Adapter is compatible with both Boards with P & M signals swapped in both cases.
