Sample Code Available for LDC1000 ?

Just received my LDC1000 EVM yesterday, and put it through its paces using the LDC1000 GUI.

Great stuff ! I can see a number of areas in Process Control where this new sensor could be used.

Next step is to actually sit and down and start programming this thing, and hooking it up to other MSP430s and Tiva/Stellaris MCUs to run against some process control hardware. (Thank you for putting in the breakable tab to easily separate the LDC and sensor, and for putting in 0.1" tabs for soldering. I won't have to go blind trying to solder to it !)

Will TI be posting any sample code (initialization sequences, typical usage, ...) and/or the demo software that runs on the EVM's F5528 ?

Sample code would sure save a lot of "re-invention of the wheel" and redundant experimentation vis-a-vis initialize and startup.

Hi Wayne,

Thanks for evaluating our EVM! There are no particular software steps to initialize the LDC1000. For a specific application, you would set Rp min, Rp max, Sensor Frequency, and configuration register values before enabling conversion by setting the power mode to active.

Note that if you would like to change any conversion-related register setting after conversion has started you must first disable conversion by setting the power mode to idle.

Hi Charles!

I was hoping that you could also release a LabView interface (vi) for the EVM - that would REALY make my life easier...

At the moment all I personally need is the ability to read the values that I can see in the GUI - in the longer perspective also setting parameters might be of interest...

In principle this would then allow me to duplicate the GUI quite easily, but more importantly I would be able to automate some initial tests VERY quickly...

Hi Johan,

You will be glad to know that both MATLAB and LabView EVM-interface code will be released and packaged with the next version of the GUI! There will be a sticky thread for software updates soon.

Sorry for the delay. It will be uploaded in the next release of the GUI. In the interim, you can test the MATLAB code attached:

The LabView code is being reworked to support LV2010.

Hi Charles,

For Hardware In Loop simulation. I need to simulate LDC1000 SPI output, so we could test our DUT for different possible inputs as same like real LDC1000.

I am trying to implement LDC1000 SPI output on Labview FPGA and plan to feed to DUT.

please suggest me if any sample code in labview is available to simulate LDC1000.

what are the different parameters I shall consider for sensor simulation I appreciate any help in this regard.
