Hello Jonathan,
I apologize for the issues that you see with the latest GUI/firmware. I documented the procedure for downgrading Firmware in this thread.
Thanks for the information however whenever I try to flash the downgraded firmware the GUI gives me an error message saying that the USB has been unplugged and the upgrade percentage is stuck at 0%. This is strange as moments earlier it had recognised the EVM by displaying 1 device in BSL found. Is there another method to install the firmware? It seems that the EVM board is corrupted somehow?
Hello Jonathan,
downgrading needs to be done with the latest GUI (1.041). You may not be able to downgrade firmware with GUI 1.030. Did you use rev 1.041 to downgrade?
Hi Jonathan,
It means that your system is slow to detect a change in USB mode and the GUI timed-out. Simply press "Update" when 1 device in BSL is found and you can downgrade your firmware. Please keep in mind that any install/uninstall from or to version 1.0.4.0+ must require a system restart.
Thanks,
Yes I am using the latest GUI 1.0.4.1 to try and perform the upgrade and have been implementing system restarts however the problem still exists. I have tried two different computers, one running Windows 7 and one running Windows XP but still whenever the upgrade is run (after the GUI has recognised that 1 device in BSL found) it still gives me an error message that the USB was unplugged and the upgrade percentage remains at 0%.
Hi John,
It seems that the BSL on the microcontroller is corrupt. Can you contact me through email? My information is in my profile.
Thanks,
Hello.
I had similar problem as mention here. I tried to email Charles Cheung. However, the email seem could be sent. Can you suggest the way to rectify this problem.
Thanks.

Hello,
I have an identical problem and it appears to me that there is a major issue with firmware compatibility and related firmware update processes.
In my case after downgrading the firmware to 7242.LDC1000 Firmware 0x0208.txt version the EVAL board doesn't connect to the LDC GUI software and the red LED on the USB (LDC1000EVM) board lights up immediately upon plugging in it onto USB port.
I tried both 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 GUI software versions and I am neither able to link up with the board nor could perform firmware upgrade.
The Flash firmware process always returns a pop up message box indicating Device Error " Device not in BSL Mode"
What is the meaning of this message and the red LED on board and how could I get the board up and running?
Thanks,
Marco
