LDC 1000 length measurement sensor up to 6 meters

I'm thinking of using the LDC1000 to measure a distance of up to 6 meter with a resolution of more than 0.1mm per meter. The measurement pattern is supposed to be the same pattern as in the datasheet.

 

1: Is it possible to use more than one coil connected to one LDC1000? BOM cost optimization.

2: When I have played around with the EWM the distance to the measurement object seems to be critical to get a good knowledge of the measurement object. I was thinking of using three coils in a row to detect the pattern and somehow get rid of the distance tolerances to the measurement object. Is this a good way for compensate for distance tolerances or have any one else found a different solution? 

3: how long coil radiuses most I have to get the resolution that I need?
