I'm evaluating some of the ADC EVM & PDK solutions offered by TI and have noticed that in the ADCpro software user manual it says that:
"The maximum block size for any test is 1,048,576 samples." I have, however, not found any information as to if this is also the maximum number of samples that can be recorded? Or is this number much higher?
I'd greatly appreciate feedback from one of you who knows about this.

ADCPro will capture a maximum of 1Mpts per channel and since the data must be captured to record it, the recorded limit would be the same.
Depending if you have an earlier version of ADCPro - the later versions of ADCPro allow for the auto increment of the filename so that you can configure for 'Continuous' data acquisition and the software will create a new file (append a number to the end of the file) for every capture. In this way you could "record" for than the !Mpts, but would have the data located in multiple files. Since the data between acquisition cycle in continuous mode is NOT contiguous, this seemed to be a good way to denote that samples might be missing between cycles (by using separate files). You can always copy and paste the data from one file to the other, however the analysis tools still have the 1Mpts limits and always start from the beginning of the data, so you would need additional tools to analyze larger sample size files.
This limitation is due to the construction of data channel and how data is passed between the EVM plug-in and Test plug-ins. We are currently trying some different things to remove this limitation; then, the only limitation would be the memory of your computer.

& thank you for your detailed answer which indeed clarifies my question. I'm wondering, though, if there is a place on TI's website where I can see when/if you change the capture file size - or can I get this information in another way?

At the moment, the best way would be to use the 'Check for Updates' feature of ADCPro and when you see a new ADCPro, you can check to see if this was included in the new version.
We will also try and update this post, which should send you an email when the file size is updated.

Just curious to know if there's been any updates to ADCPro's capacity to record longer sequences of data, e.g. 2 channels of data from the ADS1675 at 1 MHz sample rate for about 1 hour?
Just found this in ADCPro's user manual "The maximum block size for any test is 1,048,576 samples per channel.". So I guess it is not possible to record longer sequences of data ... ?

ADCPro still has the limit of 1048576 samples per channel limit. If you need more points, you can potentially use the Continuous mode; however, be aware that the points may not be contiguous. You can refer to the user guide for details of this mode of operation.
Thanks again for replying. And, yes, I read about it in the user manual yesterday - as it is non-contiguous files won't work for me, and in the manual it says that the samples may not be contiguous...
