Hi Sgulick,
Do you have the option to continue installation with the newer version or does the installer simply quit? We have no seen this in our early tests here but would like to investigate this further. Could you possibly take a screen shot of the failure screen and the given options so we can help debug.

Hi Steve,
Thank you again for contacting us with this. We will resolve this as quickly as possible. Does this error show at the beginning of the installation process or at the end? If at the end, does the GUI installation part finish and show in the programs on your computer?
Regards,
Tony
Hi Tony,
The error shows up in the beginning. right after the dialog box for the destination directories for the TI part and the National Instruments part - I selected the default.
Then in the error dialog I select "cancel" ( as "back" doen't give me any useful choices) After cancelling, nothing seems to have been installed - even in the "program files\Texas Instrumnets" folder.
Thanks
Steve
Hi Steve,
A brief update on the situation here.
We have been in contact with National Instruments about this problem to try to change the installer to fix this from happening. We have a couple options of what we can do but would require rebuilding the installer and may take a little time. The temporary solution is to uninstall the other application which NI-VISA 5.0.3 and install the ADS1x9xECG-FE software. Then, go back and install the program containing the 5.0.3 version. This should work for now as we resolve this.
Regards,
Tony
Hi Tony,
Thanks for following up. Yes, that will work. I had already set up a fresh Windows XP under Vbox on Ubuntu and first installed the ADS1x9xECG-FE software - which installed fine then I installed ADS118EVM which installs the more recent VISA software - it ran fine and the ADS1x(xECG-FE still ran ok
So that solution works for me
Thanks,
Steve
