I'm planning to use ADS1294R to design a 3-5lead ECG module. According to the channel inputs, the analog channel outputs i can obtain directly from ADS1294R are C1[Chest lead],LII [lead II] and L3  [CHANNEL1-resp; CH2- RA,LA; CH3-RA,LL;CH4-C1].  Calculation of  the the Augmented leads  would be done using software [ADS1294R  would to be interfaced with a pic controller ]. I wanted to know whether it is possible to get  LI signal from ADS1294R directly rather than calculating through software. Can it be done using ADS1294R?

    Vrinda -

    From the post to verify your connections:

    Channel 1 -> respiration

    Channel 2 -> RA and LA

    Channel 3 -> RA and LL

    Channel 4 -> Chest Lead

    For the connections, if you have RA & LA connected to CH2, this should provide -Lead I (LEAD I = LA-RA).  Keep in mind that this is a 4 channel device, so you can only get 4 channels of data out.  Additional channels for the ECG must be calculated using the output data.

    Additionally, if you are post calculating the data for augmented leads, you might consider using the ADS1298, which allows for the calculation of augmented leads on channels 5-7 of the device (see page 61).  This might save you a little calculation effort in your post-processing operations.
