Hi everyone,

I have followed all steps according to SLAU372A ( step 4.1.1 at page 10 was successful) but I the ADCpro cannot install driver for USBStyx.

I'm using ADS1274EVM-PDK which includes ADS1x7xEVM Rev E (ADS1274) and MMB0 Rev D.

I use Win 7 (32-bit), enterprise version. I installed adcpro-launcher-1.0.1, adcpro-setup-2.0.1, ads1274-adcproplugin-2.0.0.

I've also left all jumpers at default positions, use AC adapter (included in package).

Can anybody help me please how to solve this problem?

Hi Khoi,

This error message (Unable to read EEPROM) implies you have a board in which the configuration EEPROM is either blank or improperly programmed. To verify that the USBStyx driver is actually loading, can you tell us what you see in your device manger when (a) you power up the EVM and plug in the USB cable and the (b) when you launch ADCPro and try to load the ADS1274EVM-PDK plug-in? If this is a driver error, you need to ensure that you have administrative rights on the PC you are using with the ADCpro software.

Hi Tom,

I'm not sure that I understand your reply. So I took photos in cases, which I understand ( sorry that my English is not good).

1) Here are photos that I only opened the ADCPro program ( without MMB0 connection) ( I followed (4.2) USBStyx Driver Installation SLAU372A, page 10)

2) Here are USB connection status when I connected J13A and disconnected J13A ( on MMB0):

3) Here are case when I connect MMB0 -->> opened ADCPro -->> chose ADS1274EVM (on tab EVM), and LED showed as on the photo:

4) And here is case when I connected ADSx1x7EVM REV E on to MMB0 (J13A disconnected) and the LED is same:

All the results for the ADCPro are same. I can't install USBStyx.

And I think I have administrative rights on this PC because this PC only have one user (admin user). By the way, how can I ensure that I have administrative rights?

Hi Khoi,

Has this been resolved yet? The error about reading the EEPROM sounds as if the prom on the EVM is not programmed.

Hi Tom,

The problem hasn't been solved yet. So that I use EVM stand-alone with power source from J5 of MMB0. I also opened thread here:

Khoi -

As Tom mentioned, this doesn't sound like a driver installation problem. It appears that EEPROM on your board may not have been programmed correctly.

Please copy the attached file and place it at <Install directory>\plugins\evm\ADS1274, where <install directory> is the location ADCPro was installed (should be C:\Program Files (x86)\ADCPro by default).

Hopefully this should resolve the problem.

Hi Greg,

I met the same problem which Khoi does ( http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/precision_data_converters/f/73/t/335929.aspx ), and I tried the way you mentioned. Unfortunately, it still dosen't work("EVM/HW Incompatible"). Maybe it is because that TI has updated the software. So, is there any way to solve it now? Please get back with me at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

This link solved my problem, the ADCPro didn't work with the ADS1262EVM-PDK, it always said "DSP not ready" and hab a timeout.

It seems like, that the drivers delivered with the current version of ADCPro (2.0.1) are a bit buggy.

Hello,

I try to use ADCPro with an ADS1262EVM-PDK (my chip is an ADS1263 but I have supposed that this is the same plugin). After download the firmware (which is successful downloaded) I get the next message : "DSP not ready... Retrying" and a windows appears with "The firmware load has failed due to a timeout condition, ...". I have the MMB0 (NI-VISA) driver who disappears (I think is normal) but it is not replaced by USBStyx driver. I have tried to install the driver manually with no success. After that I tried to apply the solutions see in these two conversations : https://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/etc_data_converters/f/77/t/401505 and http://e2e.ti.com/support/data_converters/precision_data_converters/f/73/p/396962/1407669#1407669 . So I applied a -5V to -5VA net on terminal block J14 on the motherboard, with no success.

For information my board is supplied by 6V wall-Adapter. J12 and J13B are shorted as the User's guide says. A blue "b" with a missing bar appears on the 7 segments display.

Which version of Windows are you running?
We've seen some issues in Windows 8 and Windows 10, regarding the driver installation. Here's a related thread with some steps you can try:

When you plugin in the MMB0, does it enumerate and appear in Device Manager?
