hi,

I am looking in to the ADIS1248 for an application requiring simultaneous sampling of a strain gauge rosette(Three strain gauges) and a RTD or a thermo-couple with cold junction compensation. I just wanted to make sure that the ADS1248 was up to snuff for this task. The reason I ask is, I need to excite the three strain gauges and also the RTD.

I plan to use an external 4.096V reference to meet the common mode input requirement for the and also to meet the AVDD<VDD-1V requirement.

    Hi Ananth,

    Unfortunately the ADS1248 does not simultaneous sample all input pairs.  This device uses a muxed input, so you can only read one input pair at a time. Is simultaneous sampling a requirement?  This can be accomplished with multiple ADS1248 (or ADS1247) and synchronizing the clocks and conversions.  What are all your technical requirements, such as temperature range and resolution, strain resolution, data rate, etc.?
