Dear sir/madam

I have recently purchased an ADS 1298ECG FE-PDK. I have downloaded and installed on my PC the evaluation software, provided on the TI product page. However, I'm having problems. That is, my ADS1298 cannot communicate with the software.

There are fields for device ID and firmware that I don't know if I need to fill in. If yes, where do I find this information?

Also, every time I try to run the software, it says that the USB connection with the board has been established, but the firmware wasn't found and couldn't be loaded.

Please, help me with this issue.

P.S. Windows DOES recognize the board

You do not fill in the ID and firmware fields they are read from the software and device.

What version of Windows are you running? The software is supported on Windows XP and Windows 7 only.

You may be having trouble getting the second driver to install. You can refer to the user guide for the ADS1298FE-PDK for more information. Additionally, you can try installing the correct driver version for you computer located at : ftp://ftp.ti.com/pub/data_acquisition/ADCPro2/misc/drivers/

Hello Greg, I have the same problem as Khrystsina,

I´m working with Windows 7, I have already installed all drivers for USB and the MMB0 board is recognized.

I´m getting the “The firmware load has failed… ” window and it always appears a green letters message “DSP not ready… retrying” even if I reset the hardware.

The link ftp://ftp.ti.com/pub/data_acquisition/ADCPro2/misc/drivers/ seems to be broken. Could you please fix it?

Hi Cesar -

The ftp site should be up and working correctly.

You may want to make sure that you can connect/have permission through your firewall (or company/business/school).

Additionally, at the above link you need to navigate to the appropriate folder and download, so there is no direct download from this location. You should be able to put the above link in your browser and then see two folders: 32bit and 64bit. Within lies a separate driver installer.

Which software are you trying to install? Additionally, the drivers are installed onto your computer as part of the installation, so depending on which software you have, you can go to the installation folder and search for them. You can search for a folder or file with 'styx' to find them or let us know which software you are using and we can point you to them for manual installation.

Hi Greg,

I have the same problem that application shows "DSP is not ready...retrying",

I use Windows 7, 64bit. I checked the device management, and there is no device driver problems. The MMB0 device is identified by my windows 7.

I got a DLL error message in the first install, but there is no error when I reinstall it.

Shall I apply the +-10VDC to J14 in MMB0 board? I tried once, it seems not work.

I will try install the MMB0 driver once more on Monday.

Is it possible the PCB assembly has defective? May I ask to exchange my kit with a new one?

Hi Jim -

Is the second driver installing and showing? (documentation in Section 4 of the ADCPro manual should help..http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau372a/slau372a.pdf).

If you are missing the second driver (or it didn't install), you can try running the separate installers located at ftp://ftp.ti.com/pub/data_acquisition/ADCPro2/misc/drivers. At this location, you will need to pick the folder that corresponds to your system (32bit or 64bit) and run the enclosed installer. Hopefully that helps resolve the problem.
