Is there any technical documentation available for the Single Lead ECG (i.e. TI Health Tech Off-the-shelf heart rate strap with TI board connected− ADS1292 for integrated ECG front end−MSP430F5528 MCU − BLE module connection featuring TI’s CC2541−iPAD as data aggregator) ?

The schematic and BOM are attached below. As this was simply a proof-of-concept demo, this is the only documentation available.

Hi Ryan,

Thank you for the information. I have an additional question, probably should be obvious. I noticed that there is a JTAG connection to the MSP 430. I assume that is for firmware download and debug. My question(s) is regarding how the CC2541 is controlled and updated.

(1) Is there specific firmware required for the CC2541? If yes then how is it downloaded and debugged?

(2) Does the CC2541 have a JTAG connection?

(3) What development environment is used (IAR Workbench?)

Hi Richard,

To program the Bluetooth protocol on the CC2541, we used an app called nBlueTerm.

This app was developed by BlueRadios, the company that produces the BTLE radio module on the demo. However, exactly how the protocol was written is beyond my understanding.

You may want to reach out to the CC2541 team on the Wireless Connectivity Forum.
