ADS1299 noise spike

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1299

At the moment i am suffering with a similar looking Problem.

I have a PCB board with two ADS1299 in daisy chain. It is wired to a data recorder. The SPI is terminated andsome ferrits are placed for electro magnetic compatibility.

Randomly are spikes arising. But always on all channels.

Can not figure out what the problem could be. It looks like happening randomly. About two times in a slot of 15minutes.

Has anybody an idea? The sinus is a test signal on one channel with 100µVpk-pk and 2Hz.

  • Hi Melanie -

Not sure of your configuration, but you might want to take a look at your digital interface timing.  One possibility is that your interface timing may be slightly off somewhere and therefore the error takes a while to build up to the point where it causes a problem - and then you get an errant data point before you get back in sync.  These type of problems are generally tricky to debug, but by setting up your data recorder to trigger on the errant data, you can see what the SPI waveforms look like at that time - that hopefully will show you results that agree with the above data.
