Analog Signal Conversion

I have a high performance pyrometer IR sensing head that outputs analog signal of a temperature reading. This is designed to connect to an interface box/kit that outputs the temperature data to computer software. Unfortunately this software, nor this company that makes it, has the capability to convert the analog signal to frequency and amplitude data to analyze the consistent spikes (waves) in temperature.  I was wondering what I would need in order to get this?

Thanks,

Allen

  • Allen,

We don't have any specific recommendations on how to solve this type of an application. Generally, our questions are targeted to applications on devices we make.

However, typically I would start with what the software that comes with the interface box and see if there's ways of getting the data out into some output file and try to do some post processing with packages with Matlab or even try to run data through excel. It also depends if you need this in real time and what the data rate is.

If you have specifications on what you want to accomplish, you might be able to contruct your own system with some of the evalutation modules available.
