LMP91000 suggested gas sensor

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP91000, LMP91000EVM

We are developing electronics for SO2 sensing and trying to use the LMP91000 EVM with the recommended Alphasense sensors.  None of their sensors actually fit on the board.  Their A4 and B4 sensors require 4 pins in a row, and their D4 sensor requires a 4th pin with an Auxiliary amplifier on it.  The TI EVM only has three holes.  Why is an Alphasense sensor listed as compatible with this?

What should I do with the 4th pin, cut it off?  I have tried cutting it off and running with three pins, but there seems to be a large temperature sensitivity to the output voltage.

Thanks

  • Hi Jerome,

The LMP91000EVM was designed some years ago when the most popular toxic gas sensors had 3 pin.

Even if , from mechanical point of view, the EVM cannot support sensors with different footprints the LMP91000 can work wth them.

Please do not damage the sensors cutting the pin. Try to ask to the gas sensor manufacturers if they have a sort of conversion baord.

    regards,

    Domenico
