power rail on the ADS1120

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1120

I have a customer using the TI ADS1120IRVAR.  He reviewed its spec, and discovered a fatal flaw in their  application with its power supply rails.   I need TI to check it out, because I think I recall being told that this part can be use this at higher supply voltages than indicated on the spec sheet (not sure).  Can you verify the supply rail voltage limit for the ADS1120?  Thanks

  • Hi Mike,

There are recommnended supply voltages and the absolute maximum voltage.  Both numbers are in the datasheet. The absolute maximum for AVDD to AVSS or DVDD to DGND is +7V.  As is noted in the datasheet, these are "stress ratings only, and do not imply functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those idicated."

The recommended voltages are up to 5.5V. What voltage is the customer using? Can you tell me anything more about the application?

    Best regards,

    Bob B
