ads1299 electrode

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1299

is nice to meet you.
I have some questions about ADS1299.
Is REF connected to CZ? Fz to GND, and CH1p to Fp1?
I would appreciate to have your answers.
Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Home Chen,

    Welcome to our forum!

Before I address your questions, let me preface it by saying that we are not experts in EEG. I understand that Cz, Fz, and Fp1/2 electrodes are standard in a 10-20 EEG system. How you connect these inputs to the ADS1299 is really up to you to decide based on your knowledge of the application and EEG signal theory.

Keep in mind that the absolute voltage on the ADS1299 inputs must remain within the Absolute Maximum Ratings. Typically, the patient is biased to mid-supply in order to ensure that the input signals remain within the input common-mode range of the PGA. Biasing the inputs can be done by driving the patient with the output of the BIAS amplifier in the ADS1299.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have other questions about the ADS1299 input range.
  • Hi Ryan Andrew ,

I don't know which is absolute voltage on the ADS1299 inputs pin.
is 48,50 Pin? or 19.21.22.56 Pin?
    how much voltage?

    another question,
    which is BIAS amplifier ?
is 62 Pin? or 61.63.60 Pin?

if you know please help me,
    thanks

  • Please read the Absolute Maximum Ratings in the table on page 2 of the datasheet.

Pin descriptions can be found on page 9. For additional clarification, see Figure 46.
