ads1293 and cc2541 wireless ecg design, LOD detection not working

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TIDA-00096, ADS1293

All,

I have been working on this wireless ecg design Tida-00096 for some time, and able to pair with ios app Ti provided, but no ecg waveforms displayed on all 3 channels. I found following issues:

1. LOD detection are not working as all 6 dots are green even I removed electrodes on inputs.

2. Bat level indicator is wrong, it always stay very low even after I fully charged it.

3. what the "play" and "pause" buttons for? I pressed both , not response.

any thoughts what could be the problem? checked supply on ads1293, the chip seems powered up correctly. could this be firmware issue(using firmware from Ti so far)?

appreciate any inputs.

  • Hi Kelv,

I am not familiar with the app, but could it be that the device is not communicating correctly? Is there a way for you to check that you can successfully read and write registers?

thanks for your input. it does display ecg now, but the LOD indicator is still not correct. Also LED indicator is off. Should LED indicator be expected green?

What registors  the app is reafing? Kelv

  • Hi Kelxu,

My apologies, the post escaped my radar. The LOD indicators are expected to be green when the leads are leads are connected.

When data is captured, the system should read data from (a) registers 0x30 thru 0x3F range, or (b) register 0x50 if loop readback is used.

    Sergio
