What is the problem? DAC8760 Defective parts?

1. Comunication with MPU: OK

2. Voltage Ouput: OK

3. Current Output: Not Good

When the output voltage(Setting : 0-10V)

  a. 0x0000 ==> 0V

  b. 0xffff ==> 10V

When the current voltage(Setting: 0~20mA)

a.1000  ==> 5.7mA (N.G)

  (Estimated value: 0.3mA)

b. 2000 ===> 13.4mA (N.G)

  (Estimated value: 0.61mA)

using internal Rset!

  • Hello Um,

    I apologize for the late response, I did not receive a notification for this post.

    Could you share the configuration of the internal registers when you have the device setup for current outputs for me to double check?

    Could you also share oscilloscope captures of writing to the control register enabling the current output range?

    To be clear, in case a) you measure 5.7mA at the output and in case b) you measure 13.4mA at the output? What is meant by "Estimated Value"? What output do you see with DAC data 0x0000? What about 0xFFFF? The voltage output tests you shared were only at zero-scale and full-scale, I would be interested to see what happens at code 0x1000 and 0x2000 for the voltage output as well.

  • Um,

    Do you have any further information regarding this query?
