ADS1274EVM-PDK missing samples of sine wave

Hello,

In trying to read a sine wave in continuous mode, there are discontinuous jumps. I see in the user's guide that in continuous analysis, some samples may be missing between blocks.

Is there an easy way to mitigate this? Maybe sampling the same sine wave on 2 channels and delaying the read so one sample overlaps where the other has gaps? Or are these discontinuities likely to occur on each channel at the same time?

Is this an issue with the software or the hardware?

Thanks!

  • Hi Luis,

Thanks for taking the time to learn our ADS1274EVM-PDK!

The short answer is that this is a software limitation only and it will be apparent for all channels of data.

The Continuous Mode in ADC Pro is simply a repeated capture of a specified number or block of points. Each capture acquires one block of contiguous data points. When the software repeats the acquisition, there will be a slight delay before contiguous data points are acquired again.

The software is not intended to be used as a continuous streaming platform. It is best to acquire a large block of contiguous data and save it for later analysis.

    Best Regards,
