ADS1118 input and digital data accuracy

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1118, ADS1120

Hi,

I would like to ask you a question about ADS1118 as below.

- Input signal level and ADC data accuracy

There describes data sheet that analog input voltage is from GND to VDD. (datasheet page3, "ANALOG INPUT")

On the other hand, as far as input voltage is "GND-0.3V < Ain < VDD+0.3V, the analog input signal is inputted to MUX without clipping by ESD diodes.

         (datasheet page14)

Can I understand that if Ain is within this range, we can get normal digital data, right?

For example, in case of, AINp is GND and AINn is GND-0.1V (=-0.1V) and differencial mode, I think we can get the output digital data normal.

Is my idea correct?

Best Regards,
