Hello TI-Team,
i am using the chip ADS1191 (+evaluation board) for ecg measurement. It still works but now I would like to do some additional impedance measurement.
Therefore I have following questions:
1) Is it possible to use the lead-off detection of the ADS 1191 to measure the body Impedance?
2) I have allready found some documents on the forum but I do not kow if DC or AC-measurement for Lead-off detecan can handle this?
3) One alternative would be a complex solution with another chip (e.g. AFE4300)?
Have you got a simple solution for this problem? Can you make some suggestions for ADS1191?
Best regards,
Juergen
Hi Juergen,
The ADS1191 only has simple comparator circuits for LOFF detection. While you might be able to use various software algorithms to get more details on impedance measurements, there is nothing inherent in the ADS1191 that provides a simple solution to your application needs.
Hello Tom,
thank you for your response. I understand that impedance-measurement with ADS1191 is not possible when ecg-measurement is active.
1) You recommended an algorithm for impedance measurement. Is there a common solution available!?
2) Would it be possible using respiration mode of ADS1292R?
Maybe you can make some suggestions!?
Best regards,
Juergen
Hi Juergen,
I'm not confident that the ADS1292R is going to do what you want it to do, you would be better off looking at the AFE4300 for this application.
Hello Tom,
I thought that a solution without using the AFE4300 is available.
Thank you for your fast feedback!
Best regards,
Juergen
