Problem With ADS1274EVM-PDK

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADCPRO

Hi,

I am facing problem with connection of EVM with ADCPro Software. I am using MMB0 modular EVM Rev D along with ADS1274EVM. I installed ADCPro Software & Required plugin for EVM1274 as per user manual. If I connect hardware & start ADCPro, after loading EVM1274 ADCpro Status bar showing error message Download Failed....Reset the Hardware. I have did all default setting as per User Manual.NI-VISA USB and USBStyx drivers also installed correctly.

Is it necessary to provide external supply on J14 Connecter +VA & -VA ? If necessary then how much Supply i have to provide. Now By default setting is MMB0 13A-Open and MMB0 13B-Short.

Please resolve my problem.

  • Hi Nikhil,

It sounds like you have the jumpers and switches set correctly in their default position. There is nothing you need to do to the MMBO, so J13A/B and J14 are ok as-is.

Have you tried resetting the MMB0 when you see the error message? You can press S3 on the top-right corner of the MMB0 to reset the hardware.

When you run the software, make sure that the USB and 6VDC wallwort supply are plugged in first.

Let me know if this helps.
  • Hi Ryan,

I tried to reset device pressing S3 switch of the MMB0 but still  it is showing the same message " Download Failed Reset the Device". Before running software USB & wallwort supply is also connected.

Please suggest me any other solution.

  • Hi Nikhil,

I know that this is a driver-related issue because it has come up in the past. Can you verify that the Device Manager recognizes the MMB0? When you provide power and plug in the USB, the Device Manager should list the motherboard as "NI-VISA USB Devices -> MMB0 (NI-VISA)". Then, when you launch ADCPro and load the ADS1274EVM plugin, the Device Manager will refresh and the EVM will then be listed under "libusb-win32 devices -> USBStyx".

I expect you are not getting to the second step since it's failing. Can you confirm that you see this in Device Manager?

    Regards,

  • Hi Ryan,

Thanks for reply. It was problem related with drivers only i am not getting second step while i was using Windows7 64bit OS. I tried on windows7 32bit it's working fine.

  • Hi Ryan,

Could you please send me firmware code of TMS320C5509A that matched ADS1271EVM & ADS1274EVM for Frame Sync Mode.
  • Hi Nikhil,

I'm glad you got it to work on a 32-bit system, but there really should not have been a problem with Windows 7 64-bit, which is what I am running. When you installed ADCPro and the EVM plugin, the hardware should not be plugged into the PC. Also, make sure you have the latest installers from the EVM-PDK website:

    Download ADCPro Installer
Download ADS1274EVM-PDK Plugin Version 2.0.0 Installation

I will email you the source code separately.

    Best Regards,
