Acquiring ECG and Respiration data at the same time in ADS1298R module

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1298R

Hi,

Am using ADS1298R module. I got the ECG waveforms and Respiration waveform separately in Single shot mode. But when I try to see both the ECG and Respiration waveform at the same time, its not working. No issues with ECG waveforms, but i can see a only null or distorted waveform for respiration. Am sure its not a respiration data. Can someone guide me pls.

  • Hello Dinu,

On which channel are you attempting to measure ECG where you cannot measure both simultaneously. Also what is the difference in setup between the this setup and the time you were able to measure the respiration waveform separately?

  • Dear Brian,

AM getting the ECG data from Channel 2 and 3. And for Respiration am using the Channel 6. While acquiring ECG waveforms am getting data from All channels except channel1. I thought Channel 1 is for respiration. So I switched the Jumpers JP34 and JP35 to be shorted with [2-3] pins and so while acquiring respiration data separately, I get data from Channel 6 and no issues. The problem is am not getting the respiration data while am getting ECG data
What do I have to do to get both respiration and ECG data simultaneously?

The setup is same for both ECG and Respiration except the Jumpers JP34, JP35 are shorted with [2-3] pins.

  • Hey Dinu,

It should not be any different from collecting ECG data. Channel 1 will correspond to respiration impedance measurements and the rest of the channels will correspond to typical ECG measurements. If you are able to measure respiration at all, all you need to do to simultaneously measure ECG on other channels is to extend SCLK to latch in data from the other channels. You said previously that you were able to measure respiration separately, but did this prevent you from collecting data on the other channels?
