LMP90100: how to get zero output from strain gauge load cell bridge sensor interfaced with LMP90100 when no weight applied on bridge sensor

Part Number: LMP90100

Hi,

I am using strain gauge load cell bridge sensor interfaced with LMP90100 to measure weight. I am reading output across ADC output registers (1A,1B and 1C). The problem I am facing is for no weight applied on load sensor i am getting some random weight across ADC output registers. Ideally I should get 0 Kg weight, how can I get 0 weight on that condition.

LMP90100 register configuration and block diagram for my application as been given below

gain - 32

ODR - 1.6775 SPS

Background Calibration - BgcalMode3: Offset Estimation / Gain Estimation

using external clock of 3.94 MHz

CRC is disabled

Using channel 0

channel Scan Mode 2

  • Charanraj,

What value are you getting with no load? Are you getting a random read or do you get a consistent value.

I would expect that you might have some offset from either the ADC or the bridge itself. Regardless, if you have the data for the ADC, I'd like to see what the result is first.
