DAC7714: DAC7714 output voltage when power-up

Part Number: DAC7714
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC60004

Hi team,

This is Vio, FAE for GSK from Guangzhou, China. Our customer is using DAC from ADI and our customer would like to change to our solution.

Could you please help confirm the output voltage when powering up? Our customer is using DAC in servo control, a small voltage such as 10mV may make the motor rotates, so we expect the voltage to be exactly zero.

Thanks!

Best regards,

Vio Liu

  • Hi Vio,

We don't have the power-on glitch characterized in most of our old devices. I don't know whether the customer is open to a new DAC device or not. If they are, then you can suggest DAC60004 that has a power-on glitch amplitude of 8 mV, which is one of the industry best spec. If you need further reduction, you may need to implement additional circuitry that will kind of cutoff the output during power on. We can propose this circuit if needed.

  • Hi Uttam,

Thanks for your timely reply. My customer's need is:
    1. Dual channel is better.
    2. 12 bit.
    3. Bipolar output.
    4. Voltage output.
    5. Zero output during start up.
I can see DAC60004 is not bipolar output , which can not be accepted by our customer. Could you please help suggest other suitable devices, or could you please help verify if this device has zero output feature during start-up?
    Thansk!

    Best regards,

  • Hi Vio,

We can take this discussion over mail.
